It took me 3 days to get all of the pastel work and details done on the horse. Since I can't spray in my apartment complex and since it was so hot and humid ( 85 degrees, felt like 94 with the heat index) I couldn't spray at Dante's barn, so I had to do everything at my parents house, since they have air conditioning and have a spray booth set up in the basement. So I was in a bit of a time crunch, especially Sunday, I had to head back home but the horse was still drying. While spraying what I thought would be the final finish coat, my glove touched the horse's hind end and left a mark, so I had to fix it and spray again. That horse was harder to work with do to the fact that there really wasn't a good place to hold for pasteling or spraying.
Today I finished the eyes and hooves on the horse, because I have a model horse show tomorrow. I don't know why I leave everything until the last minute. I had 2 horses to name, one that I was still working on, I had to make a pie for the show and get everything together. I don't think that the horse I am still working on will be going. I was trying to etch a horse to look like one of my favorite stallions, but so far it doesn't really look right. So I will keep working on him and if it works, great, if not, I will throw him in the body box with all the other failed horses.
Here are some pics of the finished Dapple grey.
