What a show! I have been to a decent number of live shows before and I have never had so much fun at one. Other than one small issue with a class not being called and the judge starting judging, I have nothing but great things to day. The hall was really nice, very well lite with plenty of space for people to move around without having to worry about hitting tables. This show offered 1/2 tables, which I like because I really don't need a full table. I always seem to fill up a big table, but I can't justify getting a full table when I 1/2 is so much cheaper. They had a small kitchen which had breakfast and lunch food available. All the food was amazing. Pull pork among other things, but that was my favorite.
This show had a HUGE class list. They had RR Breyer, Stone, Custom, Artist Resin, workmanship for Cm and Ar, and they had an Other OF division. Which I will talk about a little later. Every show I have been at has had multiple rings going at the same time. This show did it a little different, they had 4 rings running for 2 divisions. It was a little confusing at first, but it was genius. For example, rings 1 & 2 were running RR Breyer first, so they did Class 1 in ring 1 and class 2 in ring 2, then class 3 in ring 1 and class 4 in ring 2. It went back and forth until they finished. We could load horses for the next class while they were judging the previous class. Then the judge had a last call then closed the class. It made the whole thing go much faster.
I had a really good show. I had a couple placings in OF, like usual. I did ok in AR and its workmanship division. I did the best in CM and CM workmanship. I decided that I won't be bringing my OF horses to the next show. I might bring the 1 traditional horse I have, but I haven't really decided. Here is a quick run down of how I did.

I like said I did the best in the Cm division. There were some amazing horse in the AR division. I was pleased to get the placings I did in that one. I moved Sum Kinda Trouble into a different class, hoping that she would be in a better class for her pattern and shape, but with only 3 horses in the ring and the other 2 being super nice horses, I wasn't surprised with how she placed. The Appaloosa classes in the workmanship were a little confusing. I had horses in both the Blanket Appaloosa classes for CM and AR. In both division I was told that they should be in Other Appaloosa because they look more like leopards than blankets. ???? At another show I was told that they were Blanket Appaloosas, all of them. I didn't want to argue with the judge, so I moved the ones they wanted me to. It worked out for the best in both because I walked away with a NAN card in one and placings in he others.
Now, having a half table made me a little nervous because it meant that I was going to have to share a table with someone. I'm not really a fan of meeting new people, especially at a show where people can be a little on the Clicky side. But it ended up being the best. Christine and I had the best time. We laughed more than anything, talked about models and breeds and shared fun stories about our jobs. We ended up being the loudest ones in the hall. The show host/judge might have egged the 2 of us into a few things, but it was so much fun. They are hosting another show in the fall and I decided about 3 seconds after I heard that I was going. She said that she would make sure that I was on the email list so that I got a spot.
I think that most entertaining part of the day was the Other OF Division. This was for anything that wasn't Breyer, Stone, Cm or Resin. As a thank you for coming, I got 2 beanie babies. One was Derby and the other was a zebra. Christine and Deb thought it would be funny to put the beanies in the Other OF classes. So I did. I did it more as a joke and didn't think that anything would come of it. Well, Derby won his class in Arabian/Light as a Tb and Ziggy the zebra got 5th in Other Breed. I wrote up leg tags for each of them and filled them out just as they should be. Derby got a reject NAN card for his strong showing (it was left over from a previous year so it isn't usable). After we all finished laughing (even the judge got a good laugh out of it) I had to make Derby a regular member of my herd, we will be my 'Table Mascot' and he will come with me to every show.
I'm really excited to go back in the fall. It was a REALLY long drive for me, over 2 hours and 140 miles each way, but it was worth it. Even if I hadn't done well I would still go back in the fall. It also helps that the fall show has performance and halter classes, so I thought why not. Just kidding, I'm going all out for this performance show. I'm making all new props, getting better documentation and picking the best horses I have. I have time for all of this, I plan on really getting into it after the show in June. That way I have 4 solid months to get it all planned.
Here are some pics of my more memorable moments.
