It was the greatest horse show I have ever seen and I would go see it again if I could. I had an amazing time with my mom!
Today was the best day ever! My mom, who is the best person ever, got tickets to Cavalia!!! Amazing tickets, front row, almost in the center. And what was even more amazing was she got passes to go to the barns after the show. I had no idea what to expect from the show, I have never really looked into what it was all about. It was amazing! If it ever comes anywhere close to your house, GO!!! It was sooooo worth it. The horses are amazing and they do some really cool things. I didn't get to take pics during the show, because you can't, but I did get to take some pics in the barn after. They have some super cute horses and the cutest little pony ever!!! I will hopefully post the pics that I took tomorrow, but a bonus is that I found my next pinto pattern. There is a super cute minimal overo that I just fell in love with and I would love to get a horses painted that looks like him.

Today I had my first shift at the barn and it was amazing!!! I can't wait to make this my full time job. Its a small barn with only 11 stalls, but it is going to be a good amount of work. The lady that runs the place is a dressage trainer, which is super cool because I LOVE Dressage and there is a possibility of taking lessons from her in the future. The horses are mostly laid back, which will be a welcomed change from some of the horses I have been working with recently. I will be doing morning chores and a few afternoon/weekend chores as well. The coolest part of the whole thing is the title she gave me today. One of the boarders came in and she introduced me as the New Barn Manager! She then said several times through out the rest of the afternoon that this was 'my' barn and that I was running it and that she was really excited to have me as the barn manager!!!!!!
On another horsey note, IHSA has been going really well. I can't wait for the next show, I am going to rock that show! I have been riding lots of new horses and jumping more, and my coach has been saying tons of good things about my riding. SHE loves my legs, she says that they are right where they should be, that they don't move very much and that I have good heels down, which is something new for me, I have never had a trainer say that I have good legs. I am still working on sitting the canter and not letting my mid section move a lot, but it is getting a lot better. I now jump a different horse every week and we have started jumping more complicated things. Yesterday we jumped a triple combination, 1 stride to bounce. It went really well, even though my horse didn't really feel like jumping at first. I can't wait for the next coming weeks!!! Leaving UPS, starting at the barn, taking my Basic final, starting Hunt Seat I and going t I'm not having a very good day today. It started badly when my supervisor came over to my trucks and basically sad I was doing it all wrong. He kept saying things that he was convinced I was doing wrong (i wasn't) so I would have to stop and talk to him and then I would miss packages on the belt and started getting behind. Then he decided that he needed to "show" me how to do everything. I stood in one spot for 45 mins watching him load my trucks. Every other person in the building started giving me dirty looks because I was just standing there, not working. So as of right now, everyone at work, hates me. THEN, I got home and was excited to see that I got an email from a lady who owns a barn that I am trying to start working at. She offered me a pay rate, and its not enough. I can't pay my bills with it. I just have this funny feeling like she is going to email me back and say that she doesn't want me working there anymore because she "isn't paying me enough"
I wanted this barn to work out so bad! I am having a really hard time at UPS right now, because they keep changing how we do things in my trucks and because they keep speeding up the belt that carries the packages. I am the first person on the belt, so I have to pull all of the Post Office packages (around 300) all of the Mayo Hospital (250), the CAT tuck (150 this morning) and anything that the guys can't scan (between 100 - 300 depending on the day) and I have to sort through all of the packages and sort of organize everyone elses packages so that things run smoother. Well, I am back home after an amazing horse show weekend. We left Rochester at 9:00am Saturday morning. It wasn't a very long drive, only 2 hours. We made it to the show grounds, parked the car and unpacked a few things. At 11:30 they did the Saturday horse draw. They call the name of the rider in each division, then a team member goes up and draws a horses name out of a hat. After the drawing, the riders have a chance to walk the course. I didn't jump on Saturday, but we walked it anyways for practice. After 20 mins, the jumping horses are brought into the ring and warmed up on the flat and over fences. Each horse has to do every course before the judge will let them be ridden. Then the show finally starts. This is the order for jumping: Open, Intermediate, then Novice. After jumping is finished, the take the jumps out of the ring, drag it and warm up the horses being used in the flat classes. We ride the flat classes in the same order as before, but with a few more. After Novice, there is Advanced Walk/Trot/Canter, then Beginner W/T/C, and last is W/T.
Saturday I drew a horse named Vegas for my flat class. It said that he was a really good horse, but he caused a ton of problems. He started cow hopping while cantering, was doing flying lead changes, and was flicking his head around the entire time. I missed the canter leads since he was switching so much, and placed 6 of 7. In the class after mine, he full out bucked someone off. Sunday I was entered in the Novice jumping class as well. I drew a horse that was really good. But we didnt get along on something, she would stop in the middle of my course for no reason. So again, we placed 6th. I drew a HUGE horse for my Sunday Novice Flat class. His name was Marco and he was 18.1 hands!!!!!! But he was sooo much fun to ride. His walk was lofty and big, his trot felt even better and his canter was like sitting on a cloud. It was the best ride I have ever had. But, because his trot is so big and lofty, I had a problem sitting it, so as usual, 6th of 7. It wasn't a bad show, I had tons of fun. I got to know a couple of my teammates and we had so much fun both at the show and away. I can't wait I am finally getting everything packed for the horse show (stayed up really late to watch movies with a roommate) I will be leaving here is about 15 mins and I am so excited!!!!! Originally we had 3 riders going, but something came up for one girl so now there is just 2. One of our teammates is coming to watch and be a cheerleader, which is really cool. I am soo EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will post how it goes, Wish me luck!
