On another note, Gunna Smoke Ya is going to be shown at Show for the Cure! She is in the mail, huge thanks to Carla, so she will have a chance to work for her living ;) Thanks to Susan for showing my little horses for me!!!
I went to a cafe today to drop off my resume and left there with a working interview for tomorrow and probably another longer one next week. I am so excited and nervous at the same time. I am going to decorate a cake for the owner of the main cafe. If it goes well, I will sort of be the main decorater, sort of. Its part time, for now, but it is still better then what I have been getting, which is NOs. I'm not sure how long I will be there tomorrow, I don't think it will be like a super long thing. Maybe like 2 or 3 hours.

Carla sent me pics of my newest resin last night and she looks super cute!!! I jst love how she turned out. I was a little worried that the color/pattern would not look good on this resin, but it turned out great. Carla is an amazing artist!!! I had her painter to a medium/dark bay with minimal overo markings. She is pattern after a real life stallion Spooks Gotta Gun. I am hoping that she can go to Show for the Cure, I am waiting to see if I can send her. I am a little worried about how she will do at shows because of her interesting pattern, but I guess I will just have to wait and see. I have named her Gunna Smoke Ya.
Well, I got the roof done on the 6 stall barn. I just have to touch up the paint and add the details to the top where the 2 pieces meet. I have picked my first horse to distroy and try to turn into something else. I am going to take this G1 Seabisciut And turn it into a hunter horse looking something like this I am most likely going to leave the mane and tail loose so it can be used in english and western events. I will also be changing the tail, I think it needs a slightly thicker and longer tail.I might also add some muscle if I can, this mold doesn't make the best muscling. I have big ideas for this horse, but I am going to go really slow with it, since I have never done this before. I will be sure to post in progress pics as I go.
Well, I am going to paint eyes on the 2 winter horses, and hopefully they will get sealed tomorrow if the weather doesn't get cold again. Imagine that, cold temps in Minnesota, NEVER!!! I'm having a really bad day. I applied for a baking job about a month ago and I never heard from them, till yesterday. I drove by the place to see if there was anyone there I could talk to and the place was open for business. I guess I didn't get the job. It shouldn't be a big deal to me anymore, its like the 30th time I have heard no. On top of that my brother has taken the car, so I can't go to the barn. Not that I could go to the barn right now if I wanted to. There are lesson and my horse is most likely in those lessons which means that I can't ride him or even go out there to see him. All I want is to be able to go out to the barn whenever i want to see my horse and not have to worry about interupting a lesson. I don't feel like I own him, I feel like I just get to pay for him and that everyone else gets to own him.
I'm hoping that I can go ride finally for the first time on over a month on Friday, pending we don't get as much snow as they think we are getting. Oh well, I am going to go play some video games and listen to my music. I hope everyone else is having a much better day then I am Ashley told me that my Poofs are almost ready, I am sooo excited to get them and put my models in something that will protect them, not just hold them. Right now, my horses are just sitting on an old standing wrap and it doesn't do a very good job. But I really can't wait to get the box because Ashley is sending me some Apoxy to play with!!! I have been wanting to play with it for some time now, but I have been having a hard time finding it. I have one horse that I am going play with and I have several ideas that I want to do, but I will have to take it step by step :) I am trying to decide if I should do an original scultpure or not. The problem I keep coming back to is what do you show it as?
I am going to finish the 2 horses tonight, hopefully. I am also going to try and finish the barn tonight as well, but I don't know if that is going to happen. I painted the roof this afternoon and it turned out tobe darker then I wanted it to be. I might have to be repaint it. Hi BF!!!
So, I went to the meeting with the potencial couple today and it was amazing!!! I am totally making their cake! They are so awesome!! The wedding isn't untill Sept, but I am already super excited about it. I am going to make a sample cake with the flavors they want so they can try it. I am getting SUPER excited for Show for the Cure, I only sent 5 horses, which is the smallest number I have ever sent. Here is a list of the horses that will be repressenting Fox Valley!!!! Augustus Down Right Talented Wanna Go There Who Invited You Inpression Sensation I was thinking about sending the 2 horses that I am working on the the show, but I'm just not sure. They aren't 100% finished and I don't have names for them. I'm not sure the person showing for me would like if I sent more horses!! Oh well, I think they will have to wait till the next show. I am hoping to finished the barn tomorrow. I got the roof cut and its ready for paint. I just have to attach the supports for it. I should be all finished during the week. Well, off to bed. This cold is kicking the crap out of me right now, and my bed is calling l I spent the better part of last night working on the page for Dante. I decided that I wanted to make a page for him since he is such a big part of my life. I uploaded a good number of pics and I plan on adding more over the next few days.
On a very exciting note, I have a meeting with a couple today about possibly making their wedding cake!! I am so nervous, I'm afriad that I am going to say something that will make them say no. I would possibly be making them a fake cake. It would be the first one I have made for a customer. I will be sure to update you on what happens. My horses made it to Susan, so they are all ready to show at Show for the Cure!!! I am getting really excited for this show. I don't think my horses wil have a chance of placing because there isn't a mini division, but I can still hope. Hey BF So I spent all of today working on model horse projects. I took pics of my newest show horse and did some work on the 2 horses I started this winter. I got a lot done on them today, they just need eyes and a little detail work then they should be finished. I also worked on the big barn. I need to get that thing finished and listed like yesterday. I know that someone out there wants it. I had interest in it before and it wasn't even finished. Now that its 99% finished I hope to get tons of interest in it. Here are some quick pics, it still needs a roof and some little detail things, but it looks pretty cool (if you ask me) Don't mind the little wood shavings, barn construction can be messy ;) Tell me what you think of it!!!! ALSO, I added a new horse to my Show Horse page. He is a chestnut Tobiano paint gelding, and I just can't come up with a name for him. Have any ideas? I also have another horse that is going to need a name but the horse isn't finished yet.
As you all know, this hobby can have its ups and downs. I have been having a lot of both recently. I get to send my horses to another Live show, which makes me very excited. I got a couple of Champions and Rserve champions in a couple different photo shows. But I have been having lots of problems trying to get my family to understand how much I love collecting, showing and customizing model horses. It is really hard to be excited about all the good and amazing things that have happened to me in the hobby when they don't really care about it. To them they are just plastic horses, but I try to stay positive about the whole thing. I tell myself that it doesn't matter that they don't understand and probably never will. And that as long as I am proud of my accomplishments that it will be worth it. Does anyone else have this problem too? Or I am the only one that has to fight for the respect of being in a very competitive hobby?
On a less depressing note, I have been working on a few new horses. You can see pics of them in the In Progress page. Both need a lot of work still, but I think they are coming along nicely. I haven't decided if I will keep them or not. I would like to send them to the show some of my other horses are at, but I just don't know. Well, here it is, the first blog. Not much is happening round here right now. I sent a couple horses out to a friend so they can go to Show for the Cure. I'm really excited about this show. I have been following this show for a few years now and have always wanted to go, but its not close to home :( BUT, I get to send horses this year!!!
I am going to keep updating the website as things happen, so stay tuned my loyal reader, soon, things are going to get crazy... |
