That still hasn't quite sunk in yet.
For the last 2 weeks I have been trying to get everything together for my trip. Everything for NAN, Resin Futurity and Breyerfest have been taking up just about all of my free time. Graduation season is finally over so I have been able to catch up on everything at work to the point that I feel comfortable with being gone for 9 days. It's just about the perfect time of year to get a vacation from work. Things slow down quite a bit in the mid and late summer so taking time away now works out.
Earlier this week I got all of the Medallions finished. Van Gogh and Riptide got their final sealer last night and I am so pleased with both of them. Mehnaz was the only micro that I ended up painting for the trip, I had plans for 3 more but different issues forced them off the work list until after I return.
I did get my performance horse finished as of today. A leopard Appaloosa done on the Moxie resin that I didn't chop up. I didn't have plans for the resin until about 4 days ago. I was sitting in bed and decided that a leopard would be a very fitting color for that resin. So I went down to the studio and painted him up. I got him finished today, which makes him the fastest stablemate I have ever painted start to finish. I'm really happy with him.
The plan over the next 5 days is to get everything around the house ready for me being gone. Penny needs to get moved into a different room to make it easier for them to feed and visit with her. I also plan on packing everything that I can tomorrow and finishing everything that I missed on Saturday. My schedule really sucks leading up to leaving, I have to work Thursday/Friday, have Saturday off and then work Sunday. I tried to get Sunday off but they didn't want me to have the day before I leave off, I guess they felt that was too much time away? Whatever.
If all goes as planned, I will be writing a daily post while in Kentucky. I haven't decided if I'll do one while I'm traveling since I'm usually pretty beat after driving for that long.
So until next time IT'S ALMOST KENTUCKY TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
