Last night around 10:00 I decided that I wanted to work on some horses. I didn't want to work on any cming so I decided I was going to try my hand at painting a bay and pasteling. Well, they turned out ok, at least for my first time. I need to keep working on it, I really don't want to be painting black and white horses for ever! I started with the bay, I used acrylics and painted him in layers. I started with the lightest color and worked my way darker. I think I thinned the paint down too much though. I am going to remove the paint and try again later today. Then I tried to pastel a dapple grey horse. I did it the way Breyer suggested doing it. With rubbing achohol and qtips. Again, I still need to work on it and I think this time I will use a reference. I didn't last night so I didn't know where to put the pastels after I finished his hip. So it looks really funny. I am going to pastel the other side of him tonight and this time I will be finding a good reference.
